Mold Alexandra have had a superb second season in Tier 2 since their promotion back in the 2021/22 season and are currently sat in 4th place of the table.

They have secured 15 victories during their league campaign, with most of them coming during a five-game win streak against Denbigh Town, Prestatyn Town, Llandudno, Llanidloes Town and Porthmadog. Their losses have come against some tough opposition, with Airbus UK Broughton completing the double over The Alex, as well as defeats against Holywell Town, Denbigh Town, Buckley Town and Bangor 1876.

In cup competitions, The Alex are still in the 2023/24 Welsh Blood Service League Cup, reaching the Northern Final, where they will face Llandudno in April 2024, after beating Holywell Town, Guilsfield and Denbigh Town. They are also still in the Macron NEWFA Men's Senior Challenge Cup and will face Rhostyllen in the quater-finals at the end of the month.

HEAD TO HEAD

Gresford Athletic and Mold Alexandra have faced each other three times since the JD Cymru Leagues began in 2019.

The Alex have claimed two wins, both which were away. The first victory came in August 2022 and, most recently, a 5-1 win at The Rock in the 2023/24 JD Cymru North.

Gresford Athletic did secure one win, though, towards the end of the 2022/23 JD Cymru North campaign through an Adam Hesp brace at Alyn Park.
