THE OPPOSITION

Denbigh Town have had a great first season back in Tier 2 and are currently sat in 6th place of the 2023/24 JD Cymru North.

They have secured 14 wins in the league, with big victories coming against Caersws, Airbus UK Broughton, Buckley Town, Llanidloes Town and, earlier in the month, a 6-1 win against Chirk AAA. However, they have fallen victim to eight losses, including defeats from Flint Town United, Bangor 1876, Porthmadog, Ruthin Town and two losses against Holywell Town, including a 3-0 away defeat in their most recent game.

In cup competitions, Denbigh Town were beaten by Buckley Town in the 2023/24 Nathaniel MG Cup after defeating Chirk AAA in round one. The Town also progressed through to the third round of the Welsh Blood Service League Cup, but were stopped by Mold Alexandra following a two great wins against Buckley Town and Flint Town United. In the JD Welsh Cup, it was Flint Town United who were got the win in round two, with Denbigh Town beating Cerrigydrudion in round one.

HEAD TO HEAD

Since the 2019/20 season, when the JD Cymru Leagues began, Gresford Athletic have only faced Denbigh Town twice.

The first game was in the 2022/23 Nathaniel MG Cup, where The Colliers secured a 1-0 away win in round one. However, earlier in the season, The Town were victorious, winning 2-1 at The Rock through a Tom Weir winner in the 91st minute.
