

After a difficult week for the club, the lads gave everything for Gresford Athletic away against Holyhead Hotspur on matchday 13 of the 2025/26 JD Cymru North on Saturday.
The game began with a tough start for The Colliers, as Holyhead Hotspur took the lead in the ninth minute through Connor Owen.
Haci Ozlu almost found an equaliser for Gresford Athletic, as his 12th-minute effort was parried away to the wrong side of the net by The Bees goalkeeper Guto Hughes.
In the 32n minute, Lewis Dutton pulled off a good save and ensured that the score remained only at 1-0

The second half started and things got tough for Gresford Athletic, with Haci Ozlu being shown a straight-red card for dissent towards referee Andy Harms in the 52nd minute.
In the 82nd minute, Connor Owen bagged his and Holyhead Hotspur’s second goal of the game.
Then, in the 90th minute, Owen notched his hat-trick, dribbling well in the box and slotting it away, cementing a big victory for the home side.
The Gresford Athletic First Team squad can be proud of themselves for rising to the challenge after what has been a very difficult week for the club.
