Gresford Athletic fall to two late goals to suffer their eighth league defeat of the campaign away against Caersws on matchday 12 of the 2025/26 JD Cymru North on Saturday.

Before kick-off, The Last Post was played and a minute's silence was observed ahead of Remembrance Day on Tuesday.

The game got underway and after seven minutes, The Colliers earned a penalty. However, Jake Roberts' penalty was well-saved by Caersws goalkeeper Max Williams.

The Bluebirds started to knock on the door and their 20th-minute effort went just wide of Lewis Dutton's post.

Jake Roberts targeted the opening goal of the game in the 33rd minute, but his effort on the volley went over the crossbar.

Shortly after the break, it was Caersws who managed to find the opener, with a quick counter-attack from the home side following a decent Gresford Athletic effort leading to Tommy Rowlands finding the openinng goal in the 49th minute.

In the 51st minute, Haci Ozlu headed the ball down to Jake Roberts to tap it home, but referee Richard Wright blew his whistle and ruled out the goal for offside.

However, in the 66th minute, Iwan Roberts found himself in a position in front of an open net and his long-range strike found the back of the net to equalise the scoreline.

Haci Ozlu almost found a second goal for Gresford Athletic, but his effort in the 77th minute is blocked well.

Caersws continued to try to find a winner and, in the 92nd minute, a free-kick from Jake Humphreys was deflected into the roof of the net past Lewis Dutton to give The Bluebirds a late advantage.

Then, two minutes later, Caersws bag another goal - this time, through Dillon Browne - to compound the misery and earn all three points on a big game at the bottom of the 2025/26 JD Cymru North table.
