The open stages were competitive, with Brickfield Rangers giving The Colliers a couple of early warning signs, knocking on the door with a few chances in quick succession in the fifth minute.

However, Gresford Athletic were the ones to bag the opener, as a scramble in The Rangers' box led to Paul Johnson picking up the ball and smashing it into the net in the 11th minute to make it 1-0 to the away side.

Toby Gallagher-Keenan had a decent effort on goal in the 31st minute, but Brickfield Rangers goalkeeper Robbie Williams was there to make the save.

Then, in the 45th minute, Lewis Dutton pulled off a great save to deny a dangerous opportunity from the home side late into the half.

The second half saw Brickfield Rangers turning the screw and finding a number of chances on goal. However, The Colliers battled and denied all of the chances for the majority of the second 45 minutes.

A bit of respite for Gresford Athletic saw Jake Roberts' 64th-minute free-kick fly just wide of the post.

Then, in the 84th minute, The Rangers found a late equaliser, which had been coming for most of the half, in fairness, with substitute Andrew Vale finding the goal.

More chances for Brickfield Rangers followed, but they were unable to find the correct passes in the final third and Gresford Athletic were able to hold on to secure a point away from home.
