The first half began with both teams battling, but Gresford Athletic's first real opportunity came in the 14th minute, when Tom Smith picked up the ball on the right-hand side and forced a good save from Holywell Town goalkeeper Shaun Pearson with a looping effort.

Then, in the 20th minute, it was almost the opener for The Colliers, as Charlie Mann rattled the woodwork directly from a corner.

Lewis Dutton pulled off a fantastic save in the 37th minute, stopping Brady McGilloway's effort.

In the 68th minute, Paul Johnson did well to get the ball to Charlie Mann, who dribbled superbly and passed to Haci Ozlu, but the eventual shot is blocked by Holywell Town's Shaun Pearson.

Then, in the 77th minute, Gresford Athletic hit the woodwork AGAIN - this time through Charley Edge's free-kick.

Haci Ozlu came so, so close to breaking the deadlock in the 89th minute, as he flew through on goal, but Shaun Pearson in the Holywell Town net made a good save to deny his strike.

The full-time whistle blew and Gresford Athletic can be proud of a good point against the 2023/24 JD Cymru North Champions and look ahead to finish the season strongly next week.
