Before kick off, the Gresford Athletic players showed their support for the Football v Homophobia campaign by holding up a banner displaying the message that football is for everyone.

The game started in the best possible way for The Colliers, as Charlie Mann drove a low ball into the box for Charley Edge to follow-up with a tap-in to give Gresford Athletic the lead within two minutes.

Charlie Mann aimed for a goal of his own in the 12th minute, but his effort was met with a good save by Carl Jones in the Bangor 1876 net.

However, he did grab his goal in the 18th minute, firing an absolute rocket of a strike into the back of the net on the volley to add a second goal for Gresford Athletic.

Toby Gallagher-Keenan came close to adding to the scoreline in the 41st minute, but Bangor 1876's Carl Jones saved the effort.

The second half began with Charley Edge striking the ball well in the 53rd minute, looking for his second goal, but Bangor 1876 goalkeeper Carl Jones caught the shot.

In the 54th minute, Gresford Athletic continued to look to add more goals, playing some great football and resulting in another great shot from Charlie Mann, but Bangor 1876's Carl Jones was again there to palm it away.

Charlie Mann came close to finding his second goal, curling the effort towards the corner of the net in the 64th minute, but the ball went just wide.

Despite some late pressure from 1876, Gresford Athletic held firm and managed to clutch their third victory in a row, whilst also keeping a well-deserved clean sheet, too.
