The game started fairly even, with both sides battling for the ball, until James Smith was forced to make a good tackle to stop a dangerous effort in the 11th minute.

Then, in the 19th minute, Lewis Dutton made a nice save to deny a Buckley Town strike, keeping the score level.

However, Buckley Town did find the breakthrough, as Sam McCormick's 27th-minute snook through a cluster of bodies in the box to find the bottom corner.

The Bucks doubled their advantage in the 29th minute, just two minutes after the opening goal, with Max Moore tapping home at the back post.

Gresford Athletic did almost pull one back, though, as Paul Johnson's effort rattled the crossbar and fell to Dave Forbes, but his follow-up shot was well-saved by Ryan Goldston in the Buckley Town net in the 33rd minute.

The second period started in disaster for The Colliers, as Buckley Town managed to find a third goal just two minutes into the half, with Liam Driscoll heading the ball into the net from a free-kick.

For much of the second half, the game slowed down, until substitute Cole Bagnall fired the ball towards goal in the 78th minute, but it went wide of the post.

Before the end of the game, Gresford Athletic did manage to find a goal of their own, with Haci Ozlu doing well to dribble in the box and scoop the ball into the top corner to pull one back.

Then, substitute Tom Smith almost squeezed in a second goal for The Colliers in the 91st minute, but Buckley Town managed to clear the ball off the line and out of danger.

It was too late, though, and Gresford Athletic were forced to accept a defeat to the hands of Buckley Town at The Hollingsworth Group Stadium.
