Gresford Athletic have today completed the signing of Toby Gallagher-Keenan on loan from Connah's Quay Nomads until the end of the 2022/23 season.
This is Gresford Athletic's fourth signing during the 2022/23 January transfer window, becoming the club's first signing of the 2022/23 January Transfer Deadline Day.
Toby started his career as a youth player at Wrexham, before making the move to Llay United Junior in 2015, before signing for Connah's Quay Nomads.
The young forward then had spells at Borras Park Albion and Borras Park Rangers between 2016 and 2020, before cementing himself at Connah's Quay Nomads, where he became a key member of the club's brilliantly successful Development Teams over the last two seasons, helping them win the 2021/22 Cymru Premier Development League North and currently sit at the top of the 2022/23 table.
The 19-year-old has an excellent goalscoring record, scoring 20 goals in 25 games in all competitions during the 2021/22 season and, so far, 18 goals in 20 games in all competitions during the 2022/23 season.
He has now joined Gresford Athletic on loan until the end of the 2022/23 season to gain some valuable experience in the JD Cymru North.
Gresford Athletic First Team Assistant Manager Jonathan Hill-Dunt says that Toby will hopefully add more goals to the team:
"Thanks to Gibbo at Connahs Quay Nomads for letting us loan Toby for the remainder of the season.
Toby has been a standout player in the Cymru Premier Development League North and we are really looking forward to seeing how how progresses with the step up.
He is a quick, technical forward who we are hoping will add goals."
Toby could make his debut for Gresford Athletic during Saturday's game at home against Holyhead Hotspur on matchday 19 of the 2022/23 JD Cymru North.
Welcome to Gresford Athletic, Toby!
