Gresford Athletic have resigned Simon Smith from Oswestry Town

Gresford Athletic have today completed the resigning of Simon Smith from Oswestry Town

The midfielder has previously played for the club twice in his career.

The 30-year-old has plenty of experience playing in the JD Cymru Leagues throughout his career, as well as spending a number of years in the Welsh National League, previously playing for Penyffordd, Lex XI and Llangollen Town.

He signed for Gresford Athletic in the summer of 2015 from Denbigh Town, but only stayed at the club until September 2016 before travelling to Dubai as part of his coaching role at 2019/20 Premier League champions Liverpool.

The current TNS youth team manager eventually resigned for Gresford Athletic in the 2017/18 season. He was a key member of the first team until the end of the 2018/19 season, where he left the club to sign for Oswestry Town, until their unfortunate liquidation, due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

This is the club's ninth signing of the day ahead of the 2020/21 season, continuing the growth and additions to the Gresford Athletic first team squad.

Welcome back to the club, Simon!
