
Nathan Leonard has been appointed Gresford Athletic First Team Coach.
Lenny becomes the newest addition to First Team Manager Eddie Maurice-Jones' coaching staff and join up to work alongside Assistant Manager Dan Richards, Goalkeeper Coach Steve Jones and Fitness Coach Levi Challoner.
In his playing career, the 38-year-old played for Ellesmere Rangers and Guilsfield before moving into coaching in 2017.
He was appointed Guilsfield Manager at the start of the 2017/18 season and spent two successful seasons at The Guils before moving to manage Oswestry Town in 2019.
After a short stint at the North West Counties League club, he returned to Guilsfield in 2020 and had a fantastic second spell at the club, finishing in third, fourth and eighth place in the JD Cymru North, whilst also winning the 2022/23 Central Wales Cup and reaching the Nathaniel MG Cup Semi-Finals for the first time in the club's history during the 2023/24 season.
Leonard also took on a coaching role within The New Saints Academy in 2020 and still continues to work for the 16-time JD Cymru Premier Champions alongside his senior management career.
In 2023, he was selected as the Tîm Rhanbarthol Cymru North Manager, representing North Wales in a play-off against the South for the right to be the Football Association of Wales' representative in the 2024/25 UEFA Regions' Cup.
Ahead of the 2024/25 season, Leonard stepped up to coach in the Welsh top flight after being appointed First Team Assistant Manager of JD Cymru Premier ever-presents Newtown, working with First Team Manager Scott Ruscoe, until November 2024.
He now returns to the JD Cymru North with Gresford Athletic to bring a wealth of knowledge, experience and expertise to the First Team Coaching Staff as the side looks to continue to climb up the league table.
