Gresford Athletic are back in action with a trip to Caersws on matchday 22 of the 2023/24 JD Cymru North on Saturday.

WHEN AND WHERE

Gresford Athletic will play against Caersws tomorrow, Saturday 24th February 2024, with kick off at 2:00pm.

THE OPPOSITION

Caersws have had a steady return to Tier 2 and are currently sat in 11th place in the 2023/24 JD Cymru North table, winning six games, drawing five and losing nine.

Their league campaign started brilliantly, picking up big victories against Llandudno, Mold Alexandra and Ruthin Town, but more recently, they have lost four games in a row against Buckley Town, Holywell Town, Bangor 1876 and Porthmadog.

The Bluebirds are still CWFA Senior Cup through beating Machynlleth 7-0 and winning 5-0 against Abermule, as they gear uo to face Hay St Marys in the next round. They are also through to the fifth round of the Banwy Fuels Montgomeryshire Challenge Cup after defeating Waterloo Rovers, Berriew and Llanrhaeadr Ym Mochnant.

HEAD TO HEAD

Since the formation of the JD Cymru Leagues in 2019, Gresford Athletic and Caersws have only faced each other once, coming earlier in the 2023/24 season, where The Bluebirds ran out as 3-1 winners at The Rock. There have also been more games between the sides in the old Cyymru Alliance, with their last game coming during the 2017/18 season, where The Colliers managed a 3-2 away win against Caersws.
