Gresford Athletic have completed the signing of Reece Oliver from Cammell Laird 1907.
The defender, who can also play as a midfielder, is signing number 13 of the 2024/25 summer transfer window for the First Team and their first of transfer deadline day.
Oliver started his career at Wrexham, starting as a youth player and working his way through the ranks over the years. He played a number of games for the club's Under 19s, captaining the side on multiple occasions, and also made his first appearance for the First Team during their 2021/22 pre-season campaign, being substituted on in the 78th minute against Burnley Under 23s.
The 19-year-old left The Red Dragons in the summer of 2023 and made the move to Vauxhall Motors in the Northern Premier League Division One West, stepping into senior football.
He then signed for North West Counties League Division One South side Cammell Laird 1907 at the start of the 2024/25 season, going on to make five league appearances for the club and helping to earn one win and two draws.
However, he now moves back to Wales and steps into the JD Cymru Leagues for the first time with Gresford Athletic, adding another option at the back to help to solidify our defence.
Gresford Athletic First Team Manager Eddie Maurice-Jones is delighted to bring Oliver to the club:
"It's brilliant news to have signed Reece Oliver.
"He's already demonstrated his exceptional qualities and ability during training.
"Reece has a great understanding of the game and is a perfect fit for our style of play."
