Gresford Athletic are delighted to announce the signing of Iwan Roberts from Denbigh Town.

The midfielder has agreed to become the First Team's first signing of the 2025/26 summer transfer window.

Roberts started his career at Wrexham as a youth player, whilst also playing for Llay United Junior and Johnstown Youth between 2013 and 2018.

In 2018, he joined two-time Premier League Champions Liverpool and went onto play for their Under 18s side 15 times. He also reperesented his national team whilst at The Reds, making his international debut for Wales Under 18s in September 2021.

The 20-year-old left Anfield in 2023 and signed for Bala Town in the JD Cymru Premier, going on to make 27 appearances in all competitions for The Seasiders, scoring three times.

At the start of the 2024/25 season, he made the move to fellow JD Cymru North side Denbigh Town, 35 appearances in all competitions, scoring twice as the club finished in ninth place in the league table.

Roberts now joins Gresford Athletic ahead of an exciting 2025/26 campaign and kick-starts the club's summer additions to the First Team squad.
