The move follows the Football Association of Wales' restructure of the Reserve Leagues into the Development Leagues and sees the club's Reserves merge with last season's successful Under 17s to form the new team.

The side will be comprised of many of the 2024/25 title-winning Under 17s team, alongside up to four overage players in each matchday squad, as per the new league rules. This allows the club's very talented young players to experience plenty of football in a new competitive league and provide more opportunities for a player pathway into the First Team.

Josh Leach has been appointed Gresford Athletic Under 21s Manager following his success as Under 17s Manager, with former Gresford Athletic Reserves players Jordan Jackson and Aron Jones assisting him as Under 21s Coaches.

Thank you to Gareth Rowland, Adam Taylor and all of the players who were part of the club's previous Reserves side, who have been excellent for the last three seasons following a full squad rebuild in 2022.

Like the Gresford Athletic Junior teams, the new team will play their games at Clappers Lane in Gresford, continuing to keep the club's roots in the village.
