Chris Rielly has left Gresford Athletic following five years at the club

Gresford Athletic can confirm that Chris Rielly has decided to leave the club following five years of fantastic service.

Rielly joined The Colliers in 2020 as Under 13s Coach, assistsing Manager Josh Leach, but the season unfortunately did not fully get going, due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

However, he moved up the age groups with Leach and became Under 14s Coach ahead of the 2021/22 season, earning a fourth-place finish in the league during the campaign.

He secured his first title at the club with the Under 15s, winning the 2022/23 Macron Wrexham & District Junior Football League Under 15s Divison, alongside reaching two cup Semi-Finals. The following season saw him step into the Under 16s Coach role, securing second place in the league and reaching the NEWFA Under 16s Cup Final.

In the 2024/25 season, Rielly worked alongside Leach to guide the Under 17s to a fantastic campaign, winning the North East Wales Junior & Youth Under 17s League, as well as reaching the Final of the North East Wales Junior & Youth Under 17s League Cup and Semi-Final of the NEWFA Under 19s Cup, also helping to see lads progress into the Reserves and First Team.

He has now decided to leave the club after a superb stint of consistent success and everyone at the club, across the Seniors and the Juniors, is grateful for his contributions.

Thank you and good luck, Chris!
