INTRODUCING GRESFORD ATHLETIC

Gresford Athletic are a Committee-led, semi-professional football club, which plays in the JD Cymru North, which is the second tier of Welsh domestic football.

The history of the present-day Gresford Athletic stretches back to 1946, although it is known that the club existed in the 1920s.

Throughout their 79+ year history, the club has won six First Team league titles, 10 cups and two Reserves league titles, most recently winning the 2024/25 NEWJ&Y U17s League title, with ambitions to continue progressing as far as they can go and become a huge part of Welsh domestic football.

Since the 2024/25 season, the club's First Team have been based at one of the best facilities in Welsh domestic football, groundsharing with Airbus UK Broughton at The Hollingsworth Group Stadium, with the Reserves and Juniors keeping the club’s roots in the village, playing at Clappers Lane in Gresford.

However, the club have ambitions of owning their own home ground in Wrexham and can look to achieve this with the invaluable support from sponsors.

The funds that Gresford Athletic generates from sponsorships is crucial to the running of the football club, allowing them to continue to develop, grow and create some special moments, both on and off the pitch.
