Gresford Athletic suffer a home defeat against Bangor 1876 on matchday 20 in the 2023/24 JD Cymru North on Friday night.
Before kick off, both teams and the officials posed with a Football v Homophobia banner to show their support for their Month of Action during February 2024.
The first half kicked off and Bangor 1876 were quick to have the ball in the back of the net through Mason Blackwell-Jones, but their 12th-minute effort was ruled out for a foul in the buildup.
However, Bangor 1876 did open the scoring through Corrig McGonigle's penalty in the 24th minute after Leon Bennett fouled the JD Cymru North top goalscorer in the box.
1876 continued to put pressure on the Gresford Athletic defence throughout the remaining 20 minutes of the first half, but they could not find a second goal and the half time whistle blew at 1-0.
Gresford Athletic started the second half in a much better fashion and were rewarded for their lively start, with Alex Buxton laying it off to Haci Ozlu, who cut inside and curled the ball into the bottom corner of the net in the 49th minute to find an equaliser.
Bangor 1876 did grow back into the game, though, and in the 64th minute, Corrig McGonigle scored his second goal of the game, tapping the ball into the back of the net from a Sam Jones cross.
Then, 1876 found a third goal to cement their lead in the game, with Mason Blackwell-Jones getting on the end of a rebounded Lewis Dutton save in the 69th minute.
Gresford Athletic looked to find a way back into the game, but Bangor 1876 were resilient in defence and ensured that the 3-1 scoreline was maintained until the final whistle, with The Colliers suffering yet another tough defeat.
Haci Ozlu was voted as Gresford Athletic Man of the Match for scoring the equalising goal, despite the result.
