Gresford Athletic came out on top of a Wrexham Derby against Chirk AAA on matchday 14 of the 2023/24 JD Cymru North on Friday night.
The evening began in perfect fashion for Gresford Athletic, as Toby Gallagher-Keenan took the lead just six minutes into the game, getting on the end of a Simon Smith corner.
It was almost quickly 2-0 for Gresford Athletic within 12 minutes, but despite a good delivery from Simon Smith, Paul Johnson's close-range shot went over the crossbar.
However, Gresford Athletic did find their second goal, with Charlie Mann doubling the lead in the 29th minute, with Haci Ozlu recording the assist with a good through ball.
Gresford Athletic came close to finding their third goal, but after a scramble in the box, Chirk AAA manage to defend their goal well and it went out for a goal kick in the 40th minute.
It wasn't long before it was three, though, as Haci Ozlu picked up the ball from a Simon Smith header and calmly slotted the ball past Chirk AAA goalkeeper Oliver Farebrother right before half time in the first minute of added time.
The second half started just how Gresford Athletic would have wanted it to, with Charley Mann backheeling the ball into the back of the net for his second goal of the game and a fourth for The Colliers in the 53rd minute.
Then, in the 55th minute, things went bad to worse for Chirk AAA, as former Gresford Athletic player Tom Freeman was sent off for a bad tackle, leaving the away side with 10 men for the next 35 minutes.
Toby Gallagher-Keenan quickly bagged himself a hat-trick, firstly firing the ball into the back of the net from Nathan Williams' cross in the 71st minute, which was then quickly followed by a 73rd-minute goal to make it three for the forward.
The rest of the game was spent with Gresford Athletic controlling the game and seeing out a 6-0 victory that was very much deserved on a dominant night at The Rock.
Toby Gallagher-Keenan was, of course, voted as Gresford Athletic Man of the Match, putting in a brilliant performance, which saw him score a hat-trick to earn the big win.
