Gresford Athletic earn an important three points away against Bangor 1876 on matchday seven of the 2023/24 JD Cymru North on Friday night.
The game started with Gresford Athletic having some good chances, with Dominic Deacon almost finding an early opener in the 11th minute, but his shot was just wide of the post.
Nathan Williams had an attempt from outside of the area in the 18th minute, but again, this went wide.
However, in the 27th minute, Gresford Athletic's early chances were rewarded when Haci Ozlu continued his fine goalscoring form and gave The Colliers the lead at Nantporth Stadium, slotting it into the bottom corner after a fine Simon Smith ball played him through on goal.
Toby Gallagher-Keenan looked to find a second goal for Gresford Athletic in the 34th minute, playing a great ball forward to Dominic Deacon, but his shot went narrowly wide.
Just before the half time break, Simon Smith played a great ball into the box, finding Paul Johnson, but his header hit the side netting and the score remained at 1-0 after the first half.
The second half began in Gresford Athletic's favour, with Haci Ozlu doing fantastically well to play the ball across goal for Toby Gallagher-Keenan to tap it into an open net to double the lead.
Bangor 1876 did not lie down, though, and pulled a goal back in the 50th minute through Corrig McGonigle.
Gresford Athletic continued to look for more goals, though, and Mike Jones played a superb ball forward to reach Haci Ozlu, who dribbled through the Bangor 1876 defence, but his shot was saved by Huw Shaw in goal in the 63rd minute.
In the 70th minute, Toby Gallagher-Keenan played the ball back into the box from the right-hand side, finding Paul Johnson sliding in, but it was a fantastic Huw Shaw save that denied an almost certain goal.
Joe Chaplin came on as a substitute, returning to the team from injury, and almost found a goal, but he could not quite get his effort around Bangor 1876's Huw Shaw.
Mike Jones was then called upon late into the game, making a fantastic 87th-minute save to keep Gresford Athletic's lead.
Then, in the 89th minute, Sam Spridgeon was played through on goal by Simon Smith in a counter-attack, running with plenty of space ahead of him, and took the ball around Bangor 1876 goalkeeper Huw Shaw and placed the ball into an empty net to make it 3-1 going into injury time and ensured Gresford Athletic earned their first league away win of the season.
Haci Ozlu was voted as Gresford Athletic Man of the Match, scoring yet another goal to add to his tally this season during a great performance.
