THE OPPOSITION

Mold Alexandra have had a fantastic season and will be hoping to keep the good times coming.

They finished 4th in the 2023/24 JD Cymru North table, earning a massive 18 wins during their league campaign, which was helped by a five-game win streak against Denbigh Town, Prestatyn Town, Llandudno, Llanidloes Town and Porthmadog. However, they did end their league season with a tough three-game run of losses, falling defeat to Flint Town United home and away, as well as a 3-0 loss against Ruthin Town.

The Alex have so far won the Northern section of the 2023/24 Welsh Blood Service League Cup, beating Llandudno in the final, and also won the National Final of the competition in style, defeating South winners Briton Ferry Llansawel 4-2 earlier in the month.

In the 2023/24 Macron NEWFA Men's Senior Challenge Cup, They beat Saltney Town in round three and then earned a 3-0 victory at home against Rhostyllen in the quarter-finals, now leading onto facing Gresford Athletic for a place in the final.

HEAD TO HEAD

Gresford Athletic and Mold Alexandra have played against each other four times since the JD Cymru Leagues began in 2019.

Mold Alexandra have three wins, with their first coming in August 2022 and then a 5-1 win at The Rock, as well as a 1-0 victory at Alyn Park, during the 2023/24 season

Gresford Athletic do have one win against The Athletic, which came towards the end of the 2022/23 JD Cymru North campaign through an Adam Hesp away from home.
